Police officer suspended for helping drug peddler in Jammu

A police officer has been suspended for his alleged involvement in clearing drug consignments and supporting drug peddlers here.
Inspector General of Jammu Zone Danish Rana has put under suspension Police Sub Inspector Nitin Khajuria for his involvement in clearing drug consignments and support to drug dealers in Jammu, a senior police officer said.
A probe was ordered and it was found that the SI was helping a drug peddler in clearing drug consignments at a Railway station through a secret inquiry, he said.
A local drug peddler, identified as Vikram Jaindal, would bring contraband in a parcel and Khajuria would help the peddler clear the parcel at the railway station and also help its delivery to the final destination, police said.
