Five new polytechnic colleges will be set up in Gujarat, for which the Centre has released Rs 32.12 crore, Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani said today.
"The Union government will set up five new polytechnic colleges in Narmada, Tapi, Junagadh, Kheda and Navsari districts in Gujarat," Nathwani said in a statement issued here today.
"These new colleges are to be set up under 'Setting up New Polytechnics' scheme as part of the 'Sub-Mission on Polytechnics under Coordinated Action for Skill Development' launched during the 11th plan," he said.
The scheme was transferred from the Ministry of Human Resources Development to Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in 2017, the MP added.
