Gur prices close steady on small buying support
Press Trust of India New Delhi Quiet conditions were depicted at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today as prices continued to hover in a tight range on scattered deals and closed at the previous levels.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also showed a similar tone on sporadic buying by stockists.
Marketmen said adequate stocks and scattered buying mainly kept gur prices unaltered.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 3,800-3,900, pedi Rs 3,800-3,900, dhayya Rs 3,900-4,000 and shakkar Rs 4,000-4,100.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,700-2,750, chakku Rs 3,800-3,950, khurpa Rs 3,500-3,550 and Ladoo Rs 3,800- 3,850.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,500-3,600 and dhayya Rs 3,600- 3,650.
