Gursimar grabs lead on Day 1 of Hero Women's Tour

Gursimar Badwal carded the only sub-par round of one-under 71 to grab the lead in the first round of the 13th Leg of the Hero Women's Professional Golf Tour here today.
Vani Kapoor finished the day in second position with an even-par 72. The Rs 6 lakh event will culminate on September 23.
Kapurthala's Gursimar Badwal started impressively, carding a birdie on the very first hole. Her advantage was, however, short lived as she dropped a shot on the fourth.
She added two more birdies to her tally on the 10th and 11th holes, while carding a lone bogey on the 18th to finish with a score of 1 under 71.

Delhi's Vani Kapoor carded a bogey and a birdie apiece on the 7th and 9th holes respectively in her front nine. She carded another birdie on the 16th hole while dropping a shot on the 17th to finish a shot adrift of Gursimar Badwal at level par.
Panchkula's Amandeep Drall and Jaipur's Afshan Fatima are tied for the third position with identical scores of one-over 73 after 18 holes.
