Two locations under the possession of the Gurruvayur Devaswom, which administers the temple, had been identified for setting up the helipad and one of it would be finalised shortly, Chacko, who represents Thrissur in Lok Sabha, told reporters here.
The launch of helicopter service was as part of the development of Guruvayur as a full-fledged Pilgrim centre, he said.
As part of the development of temple town, eight km long road from Choondal to Guruvayur would be made four-lane since it witnessed heavy traffic congestion, he said.
A special financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank would be made available for the development of the road, Chacko added.
