Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana E S LNarasimhan Tuesday expressed shock over the bus accident in Telangana's Jagtial district and offered his condolences to the members of the bereaved families.
The governor said he is pained by the loss of precious lives and injuries to several passengers in the accident, a Raj Bhavan release said.
The governor has spoken to the District Collector and said immediate relief measures be taken up to provide necessary medical treatment to those injured, it added.
An overcrowded state-run bus swerved off the road and hurtled down the hillside into a valley in Jagtial district Tuesday, killing 52 people and wounding 20 others in one of the worst highway tragedies in the state, police said.
