One of the two, identified as Sajid, has been arrested and a murder case was registered in this connection while search for the other person is on, they said.
The incident happened at around 7.15pm when Sujeet, the instructor, tried to mediate between the autorickshaw driver and the two passengers over a fare dispute, police said.
The two passengers, who were allegedly drunk, had snatched the keys of the autorickshaw from the driver during the altercation. It was then when Sujeet intervened and requested them to handover the keys, police said.
Sujeet sustained a bullet injury on his neck and was declared brought dead at a city hospital, police said.
