Filmmaker Hansal Mehta has stepped in the shoes of director Ajay Bahl for a film titled 'City Lights'.
After the success of 'B A Pass', Bahl was supposed to direct 'City Lights'. But owing to creative differences with producer Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films, the partnership did not work out.
"Hansal Mehta will be directing 'City Lights'... He is a good director and we have liked his work. It will feature Rajkumar," Mukesh Bhatt told PTI.
Mehta and actor Rajkumar of 'Kai Po Che' fame recently delivered a hit film 'Shahid', based on slain lawyer Shahid Azmi.
Bhatts were even considering to rope in director Vishal Mahadkar, who made a film for them 'Blood Money'.
"I was offered this project but I couldn't do it. They did discuss it with me. I am busy with my own work," Vishal said.
'City Lights' talks about people who migrate to the city of Mumbai. It will go on floors from December.
