Haryana Road Infrastructure Protection Bill was among 12 bills passed today.
"At present, to protect the national highways from deliberate damage, the National Highway Act, 1956 exists. To protect other road infrastructure in the state, presently, there is no specific act to govern the matter..." the Bill said.
"The cases of damage to public property go unchecked and therefore, there is a felt need for a special legal provisions to safeguard from such damage," it said.
It will check fraudulent activity and unauthorised access to roads and provide safeguards to its infrastructure. It also aims to provide for the legal framework so that legal sanctity is accorded to authorities for checking all types of intrusions and unauthorized access to roads.
The Assembly also passed the Haryana Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, benefits and Services) Bill 2017, which aims to provide effective, secure and accurate delivery of benefits, subsidies and services from the Consolidated Funds to beneficiaries and authenticating their identity through Aadhaar numbers.
The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Haryana Amendment) Bill, 2017 was passed to amend certain other provisions of the act of 2013 so as to protect the overall public interest and avoid lapsing of acquisition.
The Haryana Appropriation (No.2) Bill 2017 was passed to authorise payment and appropriation of certain sums from and out of the Consolidated Fund of the state for services during the financial 2017-18.

To promote, streamline and regulate nursing education and deal with issues related to admission, curriculum, examination and registration associated with nursing education under a single roof, the Haryana Nurses and Nurse-Midwives Bill, 2017 was passed to provide for the constitution of the Haryana Nurses and Nurse-Midwives Council.
The Haryana Cattle Fairs (Amendment) Bill, 2017 was passed to amend the Haryana Cattle Fairs Act 1970. It seeks for utilisation of cattle fairs funds by various authorities and not only by gram panchayats, panchayat samitis and zila parishads.
