"Harley-Davidson confirms that it has voluntarily recalled model year 2015 Harley-Davidson Street family vehicles, of which the XG750 model is available in India," Harley-Davidson India said in a statement.
Explaining the reasons, it said: "We identified that some of the motorcycles may have a poor seal at the fuel pump inlet, and announced the recall in the interest of customer safety."
Stating that the company is "committed to correcting this issue", Harley-Davidson India said it is working with its dealers in India to notify customers to bring their motorcycles in for inspection.
Recently, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India recalled 13,700 units of its CBR 150R and CBR 250R bike models, manufactured between July 2014 to June 2015, in India to fix a defective starter relay switch assembly.
