Star Indian boxer Vijender Singh, who has forayed into the professional arena, was felicitated by the Haryana Association here on the occasion of Haryana Day in South Hall.
The event was attended by High Commission of India in London, officials from Indian High Commission, Indian Origin MPs and Mayors.
"It's a special moment for me that Haryana Association in UK has recognized my efforts and given me this honour on the Haryana Day. I am very happy with the kind of support I am getting from all the Indians here in UK," Vijender said.
Vijender made his professional debut last month, notching up a Technical Knockout against Brit Sonny Whiting. He will next be seen in action on November 7 against another Englishman Dean Gillen in Dublin.
