The Chief Minister, who was presiding over a meeting of bankers to promote cashless transactions here today, said that the incentive of Rs 5 would be admissible up to December 15, 2016.
The aim of the project is to develop a cashless society in the state, an official release quoted him as saying.
The Chief Minister urged the bankers to launch a campaign to promote cashless transactions and educate the citizens by installing canopies outside bank premises so that people, especially of rural areas easily switch over to cashless modes of payments.
He also directed the officers of Haryana unit of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to prepare a software for effective implementation of the scheme aimed at giving an incentive of Rs five.
Banks will also prepare a daily chart of people guided and maintain its record.
The Chief Minister also asked the bankers to open more bank accounts in the name of women by launching a special drive so as to facilitate them, especially the house-wives.
It was informed that the banking applications have been launched to motivate the people to have cashless and more digital society.
