The MoU for State Resident Data Base (SRDB) was signed by Haryana Principal Secretary, Information Technology Devender Singh and Secretary Andhra Pradesh, Information Technology, Vijayen. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Andhra's N Chandra Babu Naidu were present during the signing of the MoU at Andhra Bhawan here.
Andhra already has a database of this sort. It's described as a comprehensive portal for managing demographic (name, gender, age, photograph and address) and biometric information for facilitating "Unique ID" based identity authentication.
Providing information about SRDB, Haryana Chief Secretary D S Dhesi said the state government is preparing its SRDB with the objective to get an authentic data of state's population to help deliver benefits of government schemes to the eligible beneficiaries.
He said a government-to-government MoU was exchanged between the states. With a view to realise the vision of SRDB, database of state residents based on e-KYC through online digital survey would be prepared.
A statement from him said the data to be collected with this survey would be linked with data of various departments. This data would serve as master data for the citizens of the state and various departments. The people of the state could get efficient and effective services with this database.
The SRBD work would be completed in a time bound manner, he added.
