Haryana government today said a proposal has been prepared to develop Kurukshetra as a tourist hub of global level.
To develop Kurukshetra as an international level tourist hub, the state government has issued instructions to Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB) to further develop tourist places in Kurukshetra at its own level, an official spokesman said.
As per this plan, the renovation work of Shri Krishna Museum and other archaeological galleries has been started at Kurukshetra.
Apart from this, there is also a proposal under which exhibitions could be organised at the Museum at regular intervals so as to attract the tourists.
Under the renovation work, magnificent lighting would be installed in the archaeological galleries, the spokesman said.
Every month, more than 30,000 tourists visit Shri Krishna Museum, he said, adding that efforts are being made to develop this museum as a museum of national level so as to attract maximum tourists.
He said that information about tourist and religious places situated within the radius of 48 km in Kurukshetra would also be made available at the Shri Krishna Museum so that the tourists might visit these places.
