Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said power tariff will be reduced for small and medium enterprises having connection below 20 kilowatt, according to a senior member of a CII delegation that called on him here.

"Haryana CM announced that for MSMEs having power connection below 20 kw, the tariff is going to be reduced from present Rs 6.75 per unit to Rs 4.75 per unit.

"The new tariff will be effective from May 1," Sachit Jain, chairman, Confederation of Indian Industry's (CII) Northern Region, said after a delegation of the industry body met Khattar here.

Sameer Gupta, Deputy Chairman, CII Northern Region, who was part of the delegation, said the industry body also suggested to the Haryana government to set up an Investment Board where people from the government, senior bureaucrats and CII representatives will be working together to see how the state can attract more investments.

When asked if CII had put up a specific demand before Khattar to reduce power tariff for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Jain said, "We just said that you have to help industry be more competitive."
