The award will be presented by Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh, at the award ceremony to be held at New Delhi, on February 24, said an official release.
The Mahindra Samridhi India Agri Award has been instituted by Mahindra & Mahindra in 2010 with the objective of commending purposeful contributions that made a difference in the field of agriculture to increase productivity and enhance rural prosperity.
It may be mentioned that this university has played a pivotal role in agriculture development of Haryana, it said.
The selection of this university for the present award has been made particularly for developing two single cross maize hybrids HM-12 and HM-13 and a wheat variety WH-1105 under the innovative farming technology last year.
These hybrids/variety are high yielding, disease resistant and environment friendly. Besides, these will also help farmers in reducing the cost of cultivation, the release said.
