Fast Moving Electrical Goods company Havells India today launched a range of homemade switchgear products besides its city-based call centre to cater to the regional customers.
A V Jagdish, Vice-President Havells India said the newly launched switchgear products like Automatic Changeover with Current Limiter and a new generation circuit breakers were completely made in India.
The design and technology for such products were always sourced from abroad, he told reporters here.
"The design, technology and manufacturing of this entire range is done in India. The products are not only meant for India but also for export," he said.
India's organised domestic switchgear market was estimated to be around Rs 2,100-2,200 crore in this fiscal and Havells "is already a market leader in domestic switchgear business in the country with over 28 per cent market share," the company said.
Asked how the latest products will help in boosting the revenues, Jagdish said it would certainly help in the company's growth, but declined to quantify.
The new products had many modern features, company officials said.
On Havells' city-based call centre, Jagdish said it was an attempt to expand its reach to customers, with the Gurgaon-based facility offering assistance in nine Indian languages.
The south call centre will have the option of the respective local language of the five states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, besides the choice of Hindi and English, he added.
