Hawkers protest outside East Delhi civic body

The National Hawkers Federation today held protests outside the East Delhi MCD headquarters for alleged harassment by the civic body.
The protesters were also joined by AAP MLAs from East Delhi - Nitin Tyagi (Laxmi Nagar), S K Bagga (Krishna Nagar), Raju Dhingan (Trilokpuri), Manjo Kumar (Kondli) and Amanatullah Khan (Okhla).
The MLAs alleged that the harassment by the MCD is driving hawkers on the brink of disaster and rendering them jobless.
The MCD polls are scheduled to be held in early 2017 and the AAP has working to wrest control of the civic bodies, currently controlled by the BJP.
