HC direction to Transport Secretary, officials

Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has directed the Transport Secretary and State Transport Corporation officials of Madurai and Tirunelveli to consider the plea of a Nagercol based Technical Employees Association TNSTC to provide them time bound promotion,and pay scales on par with Government servants whose qualification and character of work were identical.
Justice Ravichandrababu disposed of the petition filed by the General Secretary of the Association A.Boothalingam,with a direction to consider the representation of the Association.
The petitioner submitted that they were qualified technical workforce and alleged two government orders pertaining to rationalising of post and revision of payscales for grade 2 posts were not implemented.

The representations were also not considered, the petitioner alleged and prayed for a direction to the Transport Secretary and State Transport Corporation Managing directors of Madurai and Tirunelveli units, to consider their representation.
