The court had yesterday directed the state to explore all possibilities to curb pollution due to smog in the city and inform how such measures would be undertaken in order to meet the situation.
The court had further directed the chief secretary to instruct the appropriate departments and also inform the court about the outcome of any measures that the state intends and proposes to take up immediately for the said purpose.
This order was passed by a division bench of justices Amreshwar Pratap Sahi and Anil Kumar Srivastava on two PILs filed by Ajmal Khan and two others, seeking directions for appropriate action in the matter of smog, calling upon the state government to do the needful.
It fixed November 15 as the next date of hearing the matter.
