A bench of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice R S Endlaw declined to hand over the probe from Delhi police to CBI, saying the FIR has already been lodged and a probe is on.
"The authorities are seized of the matter and even the FIR is in the court, let the law deal with it," the bench said.
It was hearing a PIL filed by one Avadh Kaushik seeking a CBI or SIT probe into the theft.
He alleged the seized valuables worth crores of rupees have been stolen on May 10 but the inventory of stolen goods have not been mentioned in the FIR.
