Madhya Pradesh High Court today issued a notice to the Union Government, seeking reply on a PIL on the pricing of petroleum products.
The notice was issued by the bench of Chief Justice A S Bobde and Justice R S Jha during the hearing of a public interest litigation filed by senior journalist Ravindra Vajpayee.
Vajpayee contends that when prices of oil rises in the international markets, domestic oil companies hike prices, but when they fall, there is no corresponding decrease here.
The reply is to be filed within four weeks.
