HC notice to tainted NOIDA engineer-in-chief in graft case

The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court today issued a notice to Yadav Singh on a PIL seeking a CBI probe against former Noida Authority engineer-in-chief in connection with his alleged illegal assets.
The court directed the state government to also submit its reply on the court's record on the central government letter and the Advocate General( AG ) Vijay Bahadur Singh assured that the state government is in the process of sending it within a week.
A division bench of justice Dinesh Maheshwari and justice Ritu Raj Awasthi passed this order on a PIL filed by a social activist Nutan Thakur.
The court fixed April 20 as the next date of hearing.
Earlier, the court had issued a notice to respondent Yadav Singh but in the absence of its service report, it issued it again today.
On behalf of the state government, the AG , Singh submitted before the court that a judicial commission, constituted by the state government for conducting an inquiry into Yadav Singh's case, is properly functioning and concerned persons are appearing before it.
The AG assured that all the relevant papers would be placed before justice( retd. ) A N Verma Commission and the state government is in the process of sending the reply on central government's letter within a week.
On the other hand, the petitioner submitted that on March 16, she had filed the central government's letter dated February 24, which was allegedly sent to the UP chief secretary to hand over all the relevant material/documents to CBI for carrying out the necessary investigation.
