Passing the order, a division bench, comprising Justice Tarun Agarwala and Justice V K Mishra, fixed July 22 as the next date of hearing on the petition of Ranvijay Singh and Vivekanand Yadav who have challenged a change in recruitment rules effected last year wherein written exams have been done away with and selections made on the basis of candidates' scores in Class 10 and 12 and performance in medical tests.
The petitioners have contended that advertisements for recruitment of 28,916 male and 5800 female constables were issued on December 2 followed by a corrigendum dated February 2, 2016 informing about the aforementioned change in rules.
