Justice N.Kirubakaran issued the direction when a petition seeking transfer of a family court dispute between a wife and husband, pending before the Perundurai Court in Erode District, to Chennai came up today.
After allowing the petition filed by the wife for transfer of the case to the Chennai family court, the judge raised ten questions to be answered by the Law Secretary and the Registrar General.
Justice Kirubakaran, who took note of this after impleading the two officials, directed them to file a reply on details including number of cases filed each year for the past ten years in family courts at Chennai and whether there was any necessity for appointment of more number of counsellors or counselling centres in the courts.
The judge then directed the judge of the family court at Perundurai to transfer the case from its file to the Chennai family Court.
