HDFC life launches 'Pragati', a trad plan for low income group

HDFC life today launched Pragati, a traditional life insurance plan that has been specifically designed to empower low income families.
Pragati makes life insurance easily accessible to every person who wishes to financially secure his family, the private life insurer said in a release issued here.
With Pragati, HDFC Life wants to offer the dual benefit of systematic savings (with guaranteed premium returns) and wholesome life protection, making it an ideal financial product for every Indian household.
"Almost half the population in India belongs to the lower income group, aspiring to enhance their quality of life and secure the financial future of their family. With this insight we aimed to offer a product that will help the customer reap the dual benefits of systematic savings and protection" HDFC Life VP-Products, Sujoy Manna said.

Thomas Cook India elevates Mahesh Iyer as CEO
Integrated travel and travel related financial services company Thomas Cook today announced the elevation of Mahesh Iyer as Chief Executive Officer.
The Board of Thomas Cook (India) took this decision at its meeting yesterday, a release issued here said.
Prior to his elevation, Iyer was Chief Operating Officer of the company.
Iyer assumes direct responsibility for the company's profit and loss statement (P&L), day to day operations, strategic planning, management of key relationships, as well as building a sustainable growth oriented organisation that maximises value for all its stakeholders.
"He joins the leaders of the group's other travel namely Dipak Deva of TCI-Sita, Vishal Suri of SOTC and Maria Ng of Kuoni Hong Kong, who will have the freedom in managing their respective companies and will report to me as part of the larger group stricture," Thomas Cook (India) Chairman and Managing Director Madhavan Menon said.
