The lower hills of the state reeled under scorching heat as day temperatures rose by four to six degrees Celsius.
The state capital, Shimla, experienced its hottest day of the season with the mercury breaching the 30 degree-mark and staying five degrees above the normal.
Una in the Shivalik foothills also experienced the hottest day of the season with mercury touching 44.8 degrees Celsius, five degree above the normal.
The maximum temperatures stayed above 30 degrees in most parts of the state except in tribal and other higher hills areas of the state.
Night temperatures also rose by a few notches and Nahan and Una in foothills recorded a low of 26.9 degrees Celsius and 25.2 degrees Celsius, four degree and six degree above normal.
Minimum temperatures rose to 13 degrees Celsius at Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti districts, six degree above normal while Kalpa recorded a low of 11.6 degree, four degree above normal.
The tourist resort of Manali was coldest at night with a minimum of 10 degrees Celsius while Bhuntar was pleasant with mercury staying at 16 degrees Celsius.
The local MeT office has warned of thunderstorms and hailstorm at isolated places in lower and mid hills over next two days.
It has also predicted rains or thunder showers in lower and mid hills and rains or snow in higher hills over next five days from June 6 to June 10.
