Heat wave sweeps Haryana and Pb; Hisar hottest at 44.8 deg C

The blistering heat wave continued to sweep across Haryana and Punjab today, with Hisar sizzling at 44.8 degrees Celsius.
While Hisar in Haryana was hotter by five degrees, Karnal also braved a hot day at 44 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal level, a MeT Department report said here.
Heat wave also swept Narnaul, where the maximum temperature settled at 42 degrees Celsius, up three notches while Ambala, too, had a hot day at 41.3 degrees Celsius, up three degrees.
The residents of Chandigarh braved yet another hot day at 42.2 degrees Celsius, up four notches than normal.
In Punjab, Ludhiana braved the hot weather conditions at 43.2 degrees Celsius, up four degrees while Patiala's maximum settled at 42.6 degrees Celsius, also four notches above normal level.
Amritsar recorded a maximum temperature of 43.8 degrees Celsius, up five notches than normal.
