Normal life was affected in Phalodi town as it sizzled at 48 degree Celsius. It was the highest temperature of the season. Last year, the mercury had soared to 49.8 degree Celsius in the town, the local MeT official in Phalodhi told PTI.
Phalodhi was followed by Sriganganagar which boiled at 46 degree Celsius.
Intense heat conditions affected normal life in many places of the desert state, particularly in the western areas.
The state capital Jaipur also recorded the maximum temperature of Jaipur 42.9 degree Celsius.
Local MeT official said the heat wave conditions will continue for the next 24 hours.
