Heavy rain at some places in north west Bihar

Heavy rain occurred at one or two places in north west Bihar today while some places in south east part of the state received light to moderate rainfall.
Bhagalpur and Purnea received 2.6 and 2.8 mm of rain respectively in past 24 hours (recorded between 8:30 am on Saturday to 8:30 am on Sunday), Met office said.
Gaunaha received 10 cm of rain while Jhanjharpur and Katihar received 5 cm each whereas Kursela, Chargharia, Rosera and Birpur registered 4 cm each rainfall, it added.
The Patna Meteorological Centre today forecast that one or two places in north Bihar may witness isolated heavy rainfall in next 24 hours.
Isolated moderate thunder storm with lightning is likely to take place in south Bihar tomorrow, the Met bulletin said.
Met department said that Patna and Gaya may witness a generally cloudy sky with light rain or drizzle while Bhagalpur and Purnea may have a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thunder showers or moderate rain tomorrow.
Among the major cities, Patna and Bhagalpur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 34.8 degrees Celsius each while Gaya recorded 34 degrees Celsius and Purnea registered 33.7 degrees Celsius, the Met office said.
