Heptulla, Harsimrat inaugurate six skill centre in Punjab

Union Minister Najma Heptulla today said under the Make In India and Stand Up projects of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the youngsters are imparted skills and given loans so that they can expand the newly acquired skills into commercial ventures and make a living out of it.
Union Minister for Minority Affairs Najma Heptulla and Union Minister for Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal inaugurated six skill centres (at village Heero Kalan, Kulrian, Ablu, Lambi, Nagkalan and Malerkotla) at local Mata Sundri University Girls College Mansa through remote link.
Heptualla said the Ministry of Minority Affairs gives scholarships to lakhs of minority students in the country.

She said that besides this, scholarship is also given for higher education so that the students can get training and learn more.
Besides, under the Parho Pradesh scheme the students who aspire to study abroad and borrow loan for the same, are helped by the Ministry, which pays interest on the borrowed loan, she informed.
She said under the Digital India campaign the students are imparted computer training to keep them abreast in today's e-age.

Speaking on the occasion Harsimrat Kaur Badal said that the aim of opening these skill development centres was also to ensure that women become independent by earning a living and supplementing income of their families.

She added that the country which has skilled youngsters will always touch the skies.
The Union Food Processing Minister said the target of India and the state was to double the farmers' income in next 5 years.
She added that the farmers should adopt agriculture allied businesses to increase their sources of income.
