The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp has sold over a million units in the festive season so far, a senior company executive said on Monday.

The company has achieved the milestone with still around three weeks remaining in the current festive season.

"The customer response has been so massive that we have already crossed a million units in retail sales in the ongoing festival season, with a double-digit growth over the previous year," the official told PTI.

"The company has been able to achieve the sales mark due to its product and region-specific strategy, integrated with the customer activation initiatives for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup," the official added.

"Under this strategy, we have rolled out innovative customer engagement programmes and communication initiatives and reached out to our targeted customer groups through the print, television, digital and social media platforms," he said.

Hero had earlier reported robust sales during Onam and Ganesh Chaturthi with double-digit growth over the previous year.
