Acting on specific information, a joint team of Rastriya Rifles and Police launched a swift and surgical search operation in Chapriyan forest belt of Poonch district, Defence spokesman said.
They busted a hideout and recovered a huge cache of arms, ammunition and other "war-like" stores, which include one AK-47 rifle, one 12 bore rifle, one Chinese, two Pak origin & one country-made pistol, two Under Barrel Grenade launchers (UBGLs), two RPG boosters and five IEDs along with timers, he said.
The recovered cache of arms and stores are suspected to belong to some terrorist outfit which could have hidden it for later usage, he said.
Seizure of such "war-like" stores will prove detrimental to the revival of terrorism in the area and further strengthen the existing security grid, the spokesman said, adding it indeed thwarted evil designs of the militants.
