Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today launched schemes for assistance to youths to start self-employment ventures, distribution of LPG connections to households and a programme to address public grievances in effective manner.
Announcing the initiatives to mark the completion of four years of Modi Government, the chief minister said they were bound to bring significant changes in the lives of people of the state.
"The people of the country have given their full support to the Modi and BJP President Amit Shah and would continue to support the policies of the BJP," Thakur said on the occasion.
The chief minister said that 'Jan Manch' to be organised on first Sunday of every month would go a long way in prompt redressal of public grievances.
He said that the initiative would not only ensure that the schemes launched for the welfare of the people were completed well in time, but also that desired results were achieved.
'Jan Manch' would be organized "assemblyconstituency wise to ensure that people living in remote areas also get an opportunity to seek redressal of their grievances at their door step", he said.
Thakur said Mukhya Mantri Swavlamban Yojana would provide self-employment opportunities to the youth of the state in the age group of 18-35 years. They would be given 25 per cent investment subsidy for purchase of machinery on an input of Rs 40 lakh.
The subsidy would be 30 per cent for women entrepreneurs, he added.
Under 'Himachal Grihini Suvidha Yojana', gas connections would be provided to all the households which have not been covered under the Ujjawala Scheme.
The chief minister interacted through video conference with the people in different parts of the state and heard their grievances.
Former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that the state government was not only fulfilling its promises, but also going a step ahead by launching several ambitious schemes for the welfare of the people of the state.
Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Kishan Kapoor said Grihini Suvidha Yojana was an innovative scheme for ensuring women empowerment and environment conservation in the state.
He said 33,600 women would be provided gas connections during the current financial year and the department has launched an App for the benefit of consumers.
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar said that Modi government was committed to welfare of every section of society for which several innovative schemes have been launched in the last four years.
Industries Minister Bikram Singh Thakur said that within a short period of five months, the state government has taken some historic decisions.
