Chief Minister Harish Rawat today asked the tourism and civil aviation departments to prepare a detailed roadmap for the successful conduct of the ambitious programme, saying Uttarakhand is reputed all over the world as a state endowed with rare natural beauty.
"Under Himalaya Darshan programme, proposed to be launched from October 1, tourists will be flown in choppers over the picturesque mountain ranges of Uttarakhand," Chief Minister's media in-charge Surendra Kumar said here.
This will not only attract visitors from across the country and abroad to the hill state but also help in establishing it as a major destination on the world tourism map, he said.
