Bengal districts crackle at 40 degrees Celsius

Gangetic West Bengal and the western districts of the state today sizzled at 40 degrees Celsius, though the metropolis marked a notch lower, but high humidity caused immense discomfort to the citizens.
"There will be no rain tomorrow and the temperature will be 38.2 degrees Celsius in Kolkata," a MeT department official said.
The MeT department has, however, forecast a welcome relief from the heatwave on Sunday with the possibility of rain or thunderstorm in the southern districts of West Bengal, including the metropolis.
While in Purulia, the day temperature stood at 42.1 degrees Celsius, it was 41.2 in Bankura and at Sriniketan in Birbhum the day's highest was 41.1. All these western districts had recorded nearly 45 degrees Celsius earlier this week.

The day temperature in the metropolis was 0.3 degrees higher than yesterday, but high humidity caused a lot of discomfort for the people.
The weatherman forecast humid and discomfort weather for tomorrow also.
