Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said the ideology of Hinduism is not against anyone and it is all about love, faith and intimacy with all.

"Hindutava is not about malice or opposition," Bhagwat said while addressing swayamsewaks at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Lucknow.

His remarks assume significance against the backdrop of several non-BJP parties alleging that the RSS had a communal agenda and was anti-Muslim.

Bhagwat said, "We work for the country. It is not about ritualism. It is based on spiritualism and truth."

He however said, "...But remaining weak is also not Hindusim. Hindus should be made prosperous. Not bigotry, but a society where there is warmth for all is needed."

Bhagwat said, "Society is our God. We are here to serve the society, we should not think what we will get in return. We are working for all round development of Hindu nation. But there should be no arrogance that we are working for that."

He said no work should be done in reaction to something, adding, Lord Buddha preached about non-violence and tolerance.

"Mahabharat yudh dharma sthapana ke liye hua tha. Bhagwan Ram aur Bhagwan Krishna ne bhi dharm ke liye hi sab kuch kiya (Mahabharata war happened to maintain dharma. Lord Ram and Lord Krishna did all these to ensure dharma). Therefore every worker should work with positive attitude," he said.

The RSS chief said that swayamsewaks would do whatever is required for Hindu 'dharma', culture and society.

He said Sangh is an organisation of Hindu society.

"Nothing else is required to take 'Bharat' to the peak of glory than maintaining unity and integrity of the country. We are working for praise of Bharat Mata everywhere, but there should be no impurity of thoughts," he said.
