Hot weather conditions in Delhi

Hot weather conditions continued in the national capital as the temperatures in some parts of the city today touched the 40 degrees Celsius mark.
The Safdarjung observatory, whose recording is considered as official for the city, registered a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius, seven notches above the season's normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 21.4 degrees Celsius, three notches above the normal, Met department said.
The Palam observatory registered a high of 40.6 degrees Celsius, while touching a minimum of 22.4 degrees Celsius, a MeT official said.
The humidity level oscillated between 60 to 19 per cent.
The weather department has forecast likelihood of light rains for tomorrow.

According to the MeT official, the city may witness thundery developments due to an active western disturbance across northwest India across the Delhi and NCR tomorrow.

"The skies will be partly cloudy. There is a possibility of thundery development.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 39 and 22 degrees, respectively," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature had settled at 38 degrees Celsius while the minimum was pegged at 23.9 degrees.
