BJP today said it will submit to President of India a charge sheet of alleged 'misdeeds' of Virbhadra Singh-led Congress government in Himachal Pradesh and seek a high-level probe by some independent agency.
"A seven-member committee headed by senior BJP leader Suresh Bharadwaj is preparing the charge sheet, and gathering facts about the misdeeds of this government. We hope to submit the charge sheet within 45 days," state BJP General secretary Randhir Sharma said.
Alleging that forest, land and mining mafias were active in the state, Sharma said these mafias were flourishing under the wings of the government, and suspension and transfer off some forest officers and employees in illicit tree felling cases were just an eye-wash.
Accusing the chief minister of wafting two years in targeting political opponents, Sharma said the government has no achievement on the developmental front to list and was only engaged in wreaking vengeance.
"The much publicised cases of phone tapping, HPCA and the case pertaining to allotment of land to Ramdev have failed to make any progress. None of them have been taken to its logical ends as there was no substance in the allegations.
"The cases were instituted only to malign and defame the BJP leaders but it did not work," he added.
Referring to the demand for handing over the probe into assets of former Chief Minister P K Dhumal to CBI, Sharma said the BJP leaders were not afraid of any probe and challenged the Chief Minister to get his cases of money laundering and disproportionate assets probed by the CBI.
"We had submitted a memorandum to the Governor on the completion of one year of Congress rule last year highlighting corruption of the present government but the allegations were not probed," Sharma said, adding that serious allegations have been made against a Congress MP but no action was being taken.
