"Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, on his request, had announced 20,000 DTH for tribal areas of Himachal during his visit to the state on May 28, 2005 and former I and B minister Ambika Soni had also informed the state in 2009 that Prasar Bharti has included Himachal for 5,000 DTH during the eleventh plan but the state government has not received the sets till now", he reminded the minister.
Chief Minister informed the Union minister that above 20,000 DTH sets received by the state in the year 2008, had been installed in tribal areas of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Bharmour and Pangi, but 5,000 additional DTH sets were required for left out tribal areas and all fringe areas of the state on the analogy of northeastern states.
