Hry's first Photography Art Centre to come up at Gurgaon

In a bid to promote photography, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today approved the state's first Photography Art Centre at Gurgaon.
The Chief Minister has approved Rs 4.50 crore for the construction of the centre at Chakkarpur in Gurgaon, an official release said here today.
"The centre would be established during the Haryana's Golden Jubilee Year celebrations from November 1 to October 31 next year," it said.
It will comprise a museum, library, gallery, workshop area and other facilities, and serve as a one-stop source for all information related to the world of photography, the release said.
The museum will be in the ground floor of the centre. It will chronicle the history of photography since 1840, the evolution cameras and have a collection of cameras, including some very rare ones, since 1870.
The gallery would showcase a series of photographs taken during the country's freedom struggle from 1930 onwards.
Besides, books, magazines and other publications related to the art and techniques of photography would be available at the library.
The workshop area will be used for exhibition of exemplary works of expert photographers.
Talks by the experts would also be organised from time to time in a specially-designated lecture hall, it added.
