Hurriyat appeals to India, Pak to observe ceasefire at LoC

Moderate Hurriyat Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today expressed concern over the increase in hostilities between India and Pakistan along the Line of Control and appealed to both the nations to observe immediate ceasefire to stop killing of innocent people.
"I appeal to both the nations to have patience and observe immediate ceasefire on the LoC. It is imperative to stop killing of people living along the LoC," Mirwaiz said here.
The Hurriyat chairman said Kashmir issue cannot be resolved through military means and only a meaningful dialogue can help in addressing it.
"Kashmir dispute can only be solved through meaningful dialogue and political resolve among all the stake holders for which Hurriyat is ready to play its role," he said.

He expressed hope that the scheduled meeting between the National Security Advisors of India and Pakistan next week would make constructive progress on Kashmir as well as other contentious issues.
"Kashmir being the core issue should be solved through dialogue in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris," he said.
