"I did not attend today's GBM as I was not involved in the May 15 meeting in Lausanne," Malhotra, who is technically still the IOA acting chief, told PTI.
The May 15 Lausanne meeting was held to chalk out a roadmap for India's return to the Olympic fold after the IOA was suspended by International Olympic Committee on December 5 last for government interference. The Indian delegation was led by Sports Minister Jitendra Singh.
The IOA today held a Special General Body Meeting here to discuss the revised draft amendments of its constitution sent by the IOC. The GBM managed to dilute the contentious clause which would bar charge-sheeted officials from contesting elections while accepting all the other amendments proposed by the IOC, clearing the decks for an early return to the Olympic fold.
