Actor Vineet Singh, best known as murabba man of 'Bombay Talkies', says he gets creative satisfaction when he works with director Anurag Kashyap.
Vineet currently stars in Kashyap's latest release 'Ugly', which marks the third collaboration between the director-actor duo after 'Gangs of Wasseypur' and anthology film 'Bombay Talkies'.
"Anurag is a brilliant filmmaker. He always has a unique approach to a film. His films are realistic and people relate to the characters well. So, I would love to work with him again and again because like his films, his characters are also different," Vineet told PTI.
In 'Ugly', the actor has played the role of a casting director of dubious nature and to fit into the role Vineet met many people.
"To get into the soul of Chaitanya Mishra, I met many casting directors of Mumbai. I spoke to them and tried to understand their thought process, failures, success and overall behaviour. It's a very ugly character. He also makes Bhojpuri and B-grade movies for survival," Vineet said.
A trained doctor, Vineet started his journey in showbiz as an assistant director to Mahesh Manjrekar. He also acted in Marathi soaps before trying his luck in Bollywood as an actor.
"My struggle was 14 years long. I would walk in and out of audition-queues and get selected in small roles and cameos in feature films and TV soaps. I played a major role in Manjrekar's 'City of Gold'. Anurag spotted me there and he offered him three of his films 'Gangs of Wasseypur', 'Murabba' (Bombay Talkies) and 'Ugly'," he said.
Besides playing a major role in Kashyap's latest dark drama, Vineet even contributed to the title song.
"It was my idea. One day, I was just humming the lines during the shoot and Anurag heard me. He added the song in the film and I also lent my voice," Vineet said.
After 'Ugly', the Benaras-born actor would be next seen in Sudhir Mishra's 'Aur Devdas', where he is playing a friend of the tragic titular character.
"Sudhirji saw me during the editing of 'Ugly' and he chose me for his film. I am playing Devdas' friend and it's a nicely etched-out role," Vineet added.
