Knightley, 29, played Elizabeth Swann and her co-star Orlando Bloom portrayed Will Turner Jr in the first three instalments of the Captain Jack Sparrow saga.
The two characters were not brought back for the fourth entry 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' in 2011 as Sparrow was given a love interest named Angelica (Penelope Cruz).
