IAF airlifts 154 more stranded people in JK

"IAF has airlfited 156 more stranded people including women and children between Kargil and capital cities Jammu and Srinagar," S N Acharya, Public Relation Officer, Ministry of Defence, told PTI.

An IAF plane was pressed into service to ferry 46 stranded passengers to Kargil in Ladakh region from Jammu, he said.

Similarly, 29 stranded people in Kargil were airlifted and brought to Jammu, Acharya said.

A total of 79 passengers were ferried between Srinagar and Kargil, he said.

Giving details, Acharya said 47 were airlifted from Srinagar to Kargil and 32 from Kargil to Srinagar.

The IAF had airlifted 203 stranded people between Leh and Jammu yesterday.
