The police has busted an illegal arms factory in Hathia village here and arrested five people, an official said today.
They were arrested during a raid last evening. Besides a few guns and bullets, around a kg of cannabis, stolen vehicles and liquor were also seized, SP (Rural) Aditya Kumar Shukla said.
He said following the raid, a search operation was conducted in the area and it lasted for over 12 hours.
The operation was carried out by a team of personnel from 15 police stations and the PAC.
The village is known to be a hub for criminal activities, the officer said.
The SP said that country-made guns -- a .315 bore rifle, a .315 bore pistol and two 12 bore guns -- were seized along with cartridges.
One of the accused is a wanted criminal also, he said.
