Vikas Kumar, a resident of Wazirabad was apprehended near Nehru Place terminal after a tip off while 912 quarter bottles of Whisky in 19 cartons - meant for sale only in Chandigarh - were recovered from his car, which had a sticker of Ministry of External Affairs valid for 2004-05, the police said.
"Vikas used his brother's car, which was earlier engaged as a taxi with Ministry of External Affairs, for transportation of illegal liquor so that no one can doubt him," said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Gaurav Sharma.
During interrogation, Vikas told police that he along with his other accomplices is active in Noida and Gautam Budh Nagar. They supplied illicit liquor in private cars and trucks to various bootleggers in Noida and Greater Noida, police said.
