Imran Khan slams MQM's demand for separate province

Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has described the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's demand for creating a separate province for 'Muhajirs' as a "fixed match" with the Pakistan People's Party.
The chairman of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf also tendered a public apology for not visiting Sindh during last year's election campaign.
"I apologise for not visiting Sindh but the support given to our candidates during the elections in Karachi shows that the people of this province also want change," he said while addressing a big rally in Umarkot yesterday.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain recently said that if the need arose, Sindh should be divided into two parts - one for the Urdu-speaking people who migrated from India at partition.

His statement evoked strong reactions from Sindhi nationalist parties, PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto and other leaders.
Khan claimed the MQM had made this demand after taking the PPP into confidence. He alleged that the last elections in Sindh were rigged to retain the PPP in power.
