Communal situation has become bad to worse especially in states like Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said, delivering a lecture on 'Future of Alternative Politics' at the Press Club here.
Stating that it was a serious development, Yadav alleged that incidents of communal violence have occurred in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in constituencies where bypolls are due, after BJP came to power.
However, he said BJP coming to power and rout of Congress has given rise to a window of opportunity for alternative politics in the country.
AAP has proved that alternative politics in the country was viable and the anti-corruption movement of Anna Hazare had unleashed a positive energy into Indian politics, he said.
The lecture was organised in memory of Journalist N Narendran.
